If you’re travelling via Gatwick and plan to take the train to complete your journey, be aware there is no direct connection between “Gatwick Airport” and “Rye (Sussex)” train stations.
Therefore you’ll need to change via Eastbourne, before continue your journey to Rye.
Alternatively, car hires are available from the airport, with the stunning High Weald AONB sitting in between if you fancy a drive…

If you’re travelling to Rye by train, you’ll want to arrive at “Rye (Sussex)” Station.
If you’re travelling from London, there is no direct connection. Therefore you’ll need to change either via Ashford International (recommended), or Eastbourne.

If you’re travelling to Rye by car, we recommend you park at the Rye Cattle Market Car Park on Rope Walk.
The car park is open 24 hrs / day with daily rates of £3 / day.
Check out their website in the link here.

If you’re feeling mad and would like to walk Rye, we’d recommend starting in Sandgate (Folkestone) at the eastern end of the Royal Military Canal.
A brief 40km walk west along following the 19th century defensive line later, and you’ll arrive at Rye ready to sleep the rest of the day away.
